A NEW INDUSTRY: CLIMATE RESILIENCE (Chapter 6)

Resilience can be understood as the ability to withstand a shock efficiently, effectively and to bounce back to a previous state of equilibrium.  Carefully thought-out resilient measures have the added benefit of improving the situation even after the event.  We would characterize climate resilience as measures that protect or enable us to effectively and efficiently rebound back from the effects of extreme weather events.  Climate resilience is something we need to develop as the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events is increasing worldwide.
